If you have more than one monitor you may need to disable them for VD's F7 function to work properly. People on the other thread reported that the game needs to be in borderless windowed mode, though I can play fine in fullscreen. I had edited the config file to unlock the game's framerate, which is capped at 60, and I had to go re-enable it. I have a 1440p monitor and it helped to run the game at 1080p instead. I had to bump down the video options in game. I ended up having to disable the overclock on my monitor's refresh rate back to 60Hz. It took about 20 minutes of troubleshooting to get it working without flickering and poor framerate. It will look bad in the headset until you maximize RL again. When it finally starts it should be a side-by-side split view.Īlt tab back to the Virtual Desktop interface and hit F7 (On screen anamorphic). This doesn't affect Virtual Desktop because we launched it independent of Steam. My Steam crashes when it first tries to launch RL, but it reopens Steam and the game automatically after. Select RL or select "Add game" and point it to the RL exe. Use recommended settings when prompted.Ī window with some game shortcuts pop up. (You don't need Steam launched at this point yet.)ĭownload, install, and run TriDef 3D. Launch Virtual Desktop but use the executable in the game folder don't launch it from Steam. The order of steps I took to get RL running are: RL in particular was difficult because it would crash steam and steam vr on startup. I've managed to get Rocket League and Mass Effect 2 working smooth enough to be playable so far. Today I saw this thread in r/oculus where users are able to play normal games in 3d using TriDef through Virtual Desktop, as if on a giant 3D TV. So I am anxiously awaiting VorpX's Vive release like most people here.
